CHARACTER INFO

Character: Namine
Canon: Kingdom Hearts 3, end game at the beach scene
CRAU, N/A
Age: ...15...???

Background Information: Here.

Personality:
First Impressions and General:
Namine is an extremely quiet petite little thing. Initially she can come off as fragile, meek, and very polite. She's got a kind and genuine smile, though there's always a sense of ethereal sadness to her. There's a very deep rooted sense of loneliness in her that only recently seems to be fading some. At times she's been left with hard tasks, forced to give hard truths, but she always tries to do it in the most gentle way possible. It's extremely obvious to anyone that meets her that she just really cares about other people and tries very hard to avoid bringing others pain.

Despite that timid nature she does have quite the growing rebellious side. Several times she ran off from the Organization or from DiZ (aka Ansem the Wise who wasn't really Wise at all and idk why the character's didn't just vote to stop calling him that) in order to try to help Sora or Roxas. She went against DiZ's orders to try to get information to Roxas she felt he deserved. She also used the Corridors to gather information on her own. She's started to take things more into her own hands, growing more driven, as could be seen in Re:Mind when she looks for Terra to get Sora help.

Motivations and flaws:
Due to her unique creation Namine's motivations and flaws go hand in hand. Just suddenly existing meant that Namine really didn't have an 'upbringing' so to speak. To make matters worse she had no real memories for a bit of what she was or where she came from. Which meant her only option was to trust the Organization and follow their orders. The Organization wasn't precisely made up of thirteen excellent people that were super nice to her. In fact, they were pretty not nice to her. But she had no real reason to think that was the wrong way to be, she had no reference for behavior to compare it to and well, she was terribly lonely.

This may have led to her being a bit more trusting than she really ever should have been. She blindly followed what others wanted her to do, feeling as though she had no real other choice in thee matter, and this led to quite a lot of suffering for others. Eventually she did realize just how much what she was being forced to do hurt others and she was left with enough guilt to fill an entire giant Pirate Ship Attraction. Due to seeing the consequences of her actions first hand, her motivation switched from blindly following others to trying to help Sora and his friends. The most important thing to her became helping to fix what she'd done and trying to make up for it beyond that. This consequently led to her dropping (hah) fully into rebelling and helping the 'other side'.

Even after all she's done to help Sora and co she still feels an insane amount of guilt, shame, and very little self-worth. She's gotten better about it, but she still struggles with a lack of self-confidence and a somewhat timid nature. While she doesn't see her own 'self' as being worthless or anything that extreme, she does see others (like Kairi, Sora, or Roxas) as being more important than she is. When Sora mentions there are people that want to see her too she seems genuinely surprised. Very happy, but definitely surprised to hear that. Sadly, her first thoughts tend to center around what she can do to bring others together and help them, not that others may be excited to just see her. This also leads to her feeling lonely quite a lot. Some of her first memories were, after all, of just being lonely. That's hard to shake, especially given everyone else does seem to have much stronger connections with each other than she does.

Though she cherishes the connections she does have with all of her heart.

As things went on and her determination to help others further solidified she became a bit more bold. Willing to do just about anything, including putting herself in danger, to help the team out. In itself this can be seen as something of a flaw because it means she's not the best about thinking about consequences that may come up for herself. Occasionally she just acts to protect others without thought, which leads to her trouble. Like being used as a human shield. Alas, for some reason Namine is also eternally forgiving so she holds no big grudges towards her mistreatment. The biggest grudges she holds are for the mistreatment her loved ones faced and the pain they were caused. Which, to her, is a lot more important than the incidents she's been put through.

'Don't worry about me' is practically her catch phrase.

Optional: What is something unique and interesting about them, or what is a fun little tidbit that sets them apart from the crowd?
Namine can sew but evidently her talent at it leaves a...lot to be desired. She tries her best though! She's pretty much the only character to only get one outfit throughout the series, someone please give her another outfit. But really, I kind of attribute that to the fact that she was just happy to get a body and she's not going to ask for anything for herself ever.

Abilities & Inventory:
Namine has the power of whatever Nomura needed her for. Kidding (but really......)

Her abilities as a 'witch/sorceress' center around Sora and being able to erase or alter memories associated with him. This ability even extends to changing how objects appear or how people appear in memories. She can make people feel different emotions, such as when she makes both Sora and Riku Replica obsessed with the idea of protecting her. She can also shatter a heart, which is just breaking all the chains that connect a heart together aka erasing all of someone's memories and leaving them unconscious/catatonic. It seems to be that she can only do this with people who have hearts and only one person at a time as it seems to require a lot of energy/concentration.

It's heavily implied that she draws to sort of capture memories when she's changing things.

She was also capable of opening corridors of darkness to teleport through, though it's unclear if she can still do that in her new body. Since she has a heart, this also means that traversing the corridor's would now present a potential danger to her.

Inventory is limited to just her dress, sandals, and a sketchpad.

ARMADA SELECTION

Paladin. Namine wants to be able to help, especially when it comes down to making the world safe and better for people. With the more active and determined role she's began to take, I think it fits her story moving forward to continue on with active pursuits of trying to help. Sorry, I am terrible at this part for some reason.
